Clark Moore is a martial arts and self-defense professional, instructor, and founder of Defend Me, LLC, an organization committed to helping individuals develop the awareness, preparation, confidence, and skills needed to protect themselves and contribute to stronger communities.

Clark’s commitment to public safety began in August 2005, when he joined the Winston-Salem Police Department as a Police Officer. He served with the department until May 2006.

In January 2007, Clark joined the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a Correctional Officer through May 2022. During his career in law enforcement and corrections, Clark gained firsthand experience in enforcement, corrections, personal safety, and working in environments where awareness, discipline, and sound decision-making were essential.

From 2015 through 2022, Clark also served as a member of a Specialist Response Team, with responsibilities involving pre-trial release operations.

Martial Arts & Self-Defense

Clark began his martial arts journey in September 2011, starting with Krav Maga. Since then, he has continued to develop his skills through ongoing training in multiple martial arts disciplines.

His training includes:

• Gensei Ryu Karate

• American Freestyle Karate

Clark currently continues his training and development across these disciplines.

His professional training and certifications also include firearms and personal-defense education, including National Rifle Association instructor training, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer certification, Certified Concealed Handgun training, Certified Pistol Shooting, Level 1 Gun Defense, Adult Defense Instructor Level 1, and concealed-carry instruction.

His martial arts progression includes Warrior Krav Maga, including Orange Belt and Purple Belt training, as well as Level 1 Gun Defense training completed in November 2014.

Teaching & Community Service

Clark began teaching self-defense in 2018, initially offering adult self-defense instruction.

Since then, he has expanded his teaching to include adults and youth, as well as seminars, workshops, corporate and business training, community events, schools, recitals, and parades.

Clark has trained approximately 200 people and has conducted six seminars and workshops. His community-based instruction has included work with organizations such as the YMCA, as well as presentations and programs for middle and high school students.

His approach to self-defense extends beyond physical techniques. Clark emphasizes awareness, preparation, discipline, confidence, and the ability to respond appropriately when faced with challenging situations.

The Birth of Defend Me

In August 2026, Clark officially established Defend Me, LLC, bringing his years of law-enforcement experience, martial arts training, self-defense instruction, and commitment to community service together under one organization.

The mission is simple:

Through Defend Me, Clark is committed to equipping people with practical knowledge and skills while encouraging them to take an active role in their own safety and personal development.

Whether working with adults, youth, schools, businesses, or community organizations, Clark's goal is to create an environment where people can learn, grow, become more aware, and develop the confidence to protect themselves and others.
